Synopsis

In Japan, baseball transcends mere leisure; it is a national passion. For many young people, the game represents a significant step into adulthood, most vividly embodied by the national high school baseball tournament, known simply as Koshien. Though four thousand teams participate in the preliminary rounds, only forty-nine are selected to compete in the championship, an event that captivates the entire country for two weeks each August.
