Synopsis

The prospect of a woman with a history as a sex worker gaining election to the New Zealand Parliament, particularly in a conservative, rural constituency, seems improbable. The likelihood increases further if she is also transgender. Yet, Georgina Beyer achieved this remarkable feat.
