Synopsis

This is a deeply personal account of KFPA, the nation’s oldest independent radio station and the cornerstone of the Pacifica Foundation’s diverse programming. Broadcasting from Berkeley, California since 1949, KPFA has aired a remarkable range of content – from critiques of Soviet publications to the sounds of the natural world. Even voices on the far right have found a platform here. Naturally, KPFA has consistently provoked debate, and lately, that debate has played out within its own communit
