"La Boda" charts the six days leading up to the wedding of a Mexican-American farmworker. Elizabeth Luis, a U.S. citizen, prepares for her nuptials while living with her parents and seven siblings – six of whom are sisters – in Texas's Rio Grande Valley. The family frequently journeys to the fields of California and to their hometown in Nuevo Leon, Mexico, where Elizabeth is to marry Artemio Guerrero.
