Synopsis

In "First Person Plural," an intensely introspective film by Deann Borshay Liem, a Korean-American adoptee navigates the complexities of connection as she grapples with her feelings toward her adoptive family. Liem herself was born in the midst of post-war Korea’s hardship in the mid-1950s, and adopted in 1966 by Californians Alveen and Arnold Borshay. They believed Deann to be an orphan, unaware of a truth that unfolded for her later in life.
