Synopsis

Drawing on the memoir of Nicaraguan writer Omar Cabezas, *Fire From the Mountain* is a lyrical and grounded narrative of the author's political evolution—a journey from student activist to guerrilla fighter and ultimately, to government official. Shaffer’s previous film, *Witness to War: Dr. Charlie Clements*, received an Academy Award in 1985.
