Ash and his companions stumbled upon the Kanto Fair, and the sight of a Charmander performing on stage stirred a vivid memory of his long-lost friend, Charizard. He shared the story of their past with Iris, Cilan, and N, the narrative punctuated by brief appearances from Misty and Brock. Professor Oak, upon hearing the tale, dispatched Charizard to the fair.
