News arrived that the Unova League would be held in Vertress City, and Ash and his companions began their preparations for the tournament. However, they made a detour first, heading towards Iris’s hometown, the Village of Dragons. There, Iris persuaded the boys and their Pokémon to participate in a competition against a group of women who championed the idea that their Pokémon possessed not only great power but also unparalleled beauty.
