Synopsis

Approaching Vermillion City, Ash encounters AJ, a Gym Leader operating a gym outside official channels. His record is impeccable: ninety-eight victories, no defeats. A battle ensues, and Ash is taken aback by the ease with which AJ’s Sandshrew, a creature of the earth, overcomes his own Flying-type Pokémon.
