Synopsis

The primary aim of incarceration for young people is rehabilitation: to prepare them for a return to society without repeating past errors. Yet, despite this intention, rates of reoffending remain stubbornly high. Over half of those who serve time in juvenile detention will commit another offense and return to custody within two years. *Pointer* explores the reasons behind this persistent problem.
