Synopsis

This work explores the wartime history of the Dutch Broadcasting Corporation (KRO). It investigates the fate of Jewish musicians who vanished from the broadcaster's orchestras long before the outbreak of war, questioning whether their religious identity contributed to their removal. The account is built upon hundreds of newly revealed archival documents, the criminal records of KRO leadership, and interviews with surviving relatives of Jewish musicians who worked for the KRO during that period.
