Floyd was undeniably in love. Eventually, he confided in Kate, though he kept the identity of the young woman a secret. Later, telling Steve, he revealed that he had proposed and been accepted. He then asked Steve for an extraordinary, rather extravagant favor: to have a double wedding and honeymoon. Uncle Joe, recalling a long-ago private investigator’s course, felt confident he could solve the mystery of the girl's identity. But Kate knew a more reliable method – simply asking Selma, Hootervil
