Homer Bedloe, longtime adversary of the Hooterville Cannonball, has returned to Hooterville Valley—a broken man, humbled by poverty and disgrace. He’s seeking temporary shelter, at least for now. Arriving shortly after him is Wilbur Goodfellow, presented as Bedloe's complete antithesis.
