Synopsis

The Cannonball was unexpectedly still. A bird had chosen the smokestack as the site for its nest, and now five eggs rested within it. Charley and Floyd declared they would not move the train until those eggs hatched, estimating a wait of two weeks. Homer Bedloe, hearing this news, publicly endorsed their decision, even publishing an article in support.
