Synopsis

The news of the draft left Herby disheartened, so the girls tried to lift his spirits by playfully suggesting he might become an astronaut. Hearing this, Uncle Joe seized upon the idea and decided to announce Herby’s promising political future to the entire town. Later, when Herby received a discharge due to a minor medical issue, Kate devised a way for him to maintain his dignity with Billie Jo and everyone else.
