This program, which came out around the time of the Beverly Hillbillies, was noticeably understated when put next to other series of its kind. Characters would frequently appear in one another’s episodes. Frank Cady, playing Sam Drucker, served as a common thread connecting them. The opening scene does feature three women appearing unclothed in a water tower, though. Despite that initial image, the show remains gentle and unassuming; the humor is fairly standard. Bea Benaderet manages a hotel with assistance from these three young women. A disappointment for male viewers, one of the women marries early on. They are presented as conventional women in relation to the comic character, Uncle Joe, portrayed by Edgar Buchanan (known for Ride the High Country, Shane, and The Comancheros). It’s not a poorly made program, but more something you might have on while using an elliptical machine or exercising.
