Synopsis

Burt Payne held a ten percent stake in a professional football team; his wife, Ellen, possessed the remaining shares. Recognizing his diminished career and a pressing need for funds, Burt sought to sell his portion to a group of investors, securing an initial payment. Ellen, however, vehemently opposed the transaction. Subsequently, after a meeting between one of the prospective buyers and Ellen aboard a train, Burt was seemingly killed in an explosion.
