Synopsis

Melvin Slater selected Eva Martell from a pool of applicants for a specific task: to assume the identity of a woman named Helen Reynolds. The arrangement included a generous payment and comfortable accommodations in an apartment with her Aunt Agnes, contingent upon Eva's continued performance. Both Eva and her aunt harbored suspicions, and sought counsel from Perry. Their concerns were abruptly overshadowed by the discovery of Melvin Slater’s lifeless body within the apartment.
