Synopsis

Lorraine Stevens is rebuffing the persistent attentions of Philip Larkin, the owner of the import-export firm where she is employed. Later that day, she receives a request to collect an item from Alcorn Jewelers. The proprietor, oblivious to the object in question, suggests she contact someone for clarification. She dials Philip Larkin's number. As the phone rings, Philip Larkin is found dead in his home.
