News of Stewart Brent’s marriage proves too much for Enid Griffin, his secretary, and she makes an attempt on her own life. Meanwhile, Arthur Binney seeks to exploit the situation, threatening to expose details of Brent’s new wife's past – specifically, a conviction for fraud – unless he receives payment.
