Synopsis

Arthur West, a private investigator of questionable repute, discovered J. J. Stanley in a rundown motel. West was well aware that Stanley and his partner, Ned Bain, had been implicated in the embezzlement of the Texas National Bank. His intention was to blackmail Bain into providing him with funds to ensure his silence. The subsequent discovery of J. J. Stanley’s body in Arthur West's hotel room led to the accusation of murder against Harriet Bain, Ned Bain’s daughter.
