Synopsis

As Moretti received a deathbed confession concerning the 1992 hit-and-run murder of a teenager, she enlisted Pierce to assess the dying man’s trustworthiness. The matter grew complex, though, when Dr. Hutchins, the alleged killer's physician, reported that his patient’s tumor had vanished without explanation. Now, Pierce and Moretti must delve further into the past, seeking to unravel the truth behind a disturbing sequence of seemingly unrelated deaths.
