I’m baffled by the positive buzz and high ratings surrounding this series. After watching the initial four installments, I simply couldn't continue and instead looked up summaries online for those same episodes. My experience mirrors that of both Peacemaker and Harcourt; I find myself questioning the purpose of everything unfolding because there’s no explanation offered, and feeling like I'm surrounded by incredibly foolish people. The sole aspect of the narrative possessing any real significance is the dynamic between Peacemaker and his father. There's a degree of enjoyment to be found here—otherwise, I wouldn’t have persevered through those first four episodes—but it’s buried beneath so much nonsensical material that it feels akin to experiencing Whedon’s Josstice League followed immediately by Snyder’s Excessive Justice Cut. I'm wondering if perhaps my timing is simply off. What is the deal with Adebayo? He comes across as ridiculous! The series began with Waller attempting to manipulate her into remaining employed due to supposed exceptional abilities, yet we aren't shown any evidence of that on screen. In contrast, Ironheart from the MCU currently holds a 57% rating. I’d like someone to account for how the first three episodes of Ironheart were generally more enjoyable than these initial four installments.
