Synopsis

The theft was a personal affront, a violation of something precious. A trap had to be devised, a cunning snare for the pilferer. But as the thought solidified, a strange weariness settled in. Why expend so much effort on stolen fruit? The question hung in the air, heavy and absurd. "Would you like an apple?" a voice offered, laced with a disarming kindness.
