Pat & Mat — In the Countryside
The beloved Pat & Mat returned to screens in 2009 with *Pat & Mat na venkově* (Pat & Mat in the Countryside), marking a fresh chapter for the mischievous duo. The series debuted with “Beds,” showcased at the prestigious 50th Zlín Film Festival in 2010, and continued with eleven more episodes released between 2011 and 2015. Every episode – all thirteen – was penned and directed by Beneš, presented in a modern widescreen format (16:9). Eight episodes charmed audiences on DVD in 2013, followed shortly after by their television premiere on the Dutch channel VPRO on June 9th of that year, with the remaining installments airing soon thereafter.
