It’s remarkable how even a familiar stylistic choice like the pervasive blue tint couldn’t detract from the truly outstanding acting throughout the series. Ozark had the ingredients for something special from the start, and it consistently lived up to that initial promise across its run. The third season—the most recent one available—is an example of crime drama done exceptionally well, highlighted by two powerful and captivating portrayals from Jason Bateman and Laura Linney. Initially, people often compared this show unfavorably to Breaking Bad, which I could see the reasoning behind. However, after its second season, Ozark managed to break free from that association and establish itself as something unique. If you enjoy crime dramas like Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, Narcos, or Fargo, I believe this series will satisfy what you’re looking for.
