Synopsis

The year is 1916, and Britain’s armed forces have suffered grievous losses. Across the nation, friends are enlisting together, forming new units known as ‘Pals’. Paddy Kennedy, a warehouse clerk from Manchester, joins the Manchester Pals Battalion with his companions Henry, Andy, and Jim. They quickly realize that their entire neighbourhood has answered the call, including a local factory foreman, now Sergeant Mitchell, and their friend Lizzie, who is volunteering as a nurse.
