MovieGuys seems to have stopped watching after just a single episode. The initial installment fails to establish any humor; it doesn't seem intended to be funny at all. However, starting with episodes 2 and 3, the narrative really begins to develop. Every character is thoughtfully crafted, skillfully portrayed, and genuinely amusing, and the dynamic between the two leads unfolds in a subtle and endearing manner—there’s nothing remotely progressive about it, unless perhaps you're feeling uncertain regarding your own identity. If you aren’t finding Buttons entertaining, maybe The Golden Girls would be more your speed. It’s easily among the most inventive and significant comedies of this century, but it will likely disappear amidst a flood of generic “comedies” due to assessments from critics like Movieguys.
