Synopsis

Nurse Gladys Emmanuel, observing Granville’s difficulty with the laundry, informed Arkwright that a new washing machine was essential. Arkwright then found himself in the position of devising a scheme to make it appear as though he had complied with her request. He enlisted Neville’s assistance, arranging for a new machine to be delivered, then secretly removed it from the rear of the shop, leaving behind a used one in its place.
