I recently watched “One Trillion Dollars,” which is called "Eine Billion Dollar" in its German version. My reaction to it is complicated. The narrative itself was engaging and held my attention throughout, though I felt that the initial and final pair of episodes suggested it would have benefited from being extended into a multi-season series—it seemed abruptly truncated. According to the show’s listing on TMDB, it's listed as "Ended," implying it wasn’t canceled but rather intentionally designed with a shorter run. I found the story appealing because global financial markets often feel opaque and constructed, so thrillers centered around this subject matter are typically fascinating. I also appreciated some of the cinematography and filming locations. While Oliver Masucci's performance as an unhinged financial mastermind was enjoyable, the show didn’t particularly excite me, and I likely wouldn’t have completed it if it had continued much longer. Ultimately, I would describe this as a fairly ordinary series. It provides decent entertainment for passing the time, but don't anticipate anything on par with the storytelling of Marc Elsberg or Frank Schätzing.
