My fondness for One Piece keeps me from giving this a score higher than 7.5, due to what felt like a hurried ending and frequent close-ups that seemed intended to obscure the settings. The series has the feel of a new chef’s initial attempt at a complex meal, overseen by a strict culinary instructor. While there are flaws—like limited locations and some weak performances from young actors—the underlying quality is undeniable, and I anticipate even better work coming out in the future.
