Synopsis

The marine officer serving under Arlong seized the vast sum Nami had accumulated through years of theft, intending to use it to purchase their village from the tyrant. This act ignited a spark of defiance in the villagers; they resolved to resist, ignoring Nami's desperate pleas for them to stand down, warning of certain death.
