This show, Obi-Wan, had a lot going for it initially, but ultimately doesn't quite live up to expectations. The initial concept is reasonably engaging, however, the script’s unevenness was distracting at times. It felt like characters often acted in ways that served the plot rather than their established personalities, which didn’t always seem sensible. What keeps this series afloat are the excellent performances from Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen/James Earl Jones portraying Anakin/Darth Vader. The depiction of a weary Obi-Wan feels authentic, and I became genuinely interested in seeing him move forward. Darth Vader provides numerous moments catered to fans, showcasing his ruthlessness and evil nature, which proved more entertaining than the flawed writing and underdeveloped plotlines.
