With up to forty percent of each year's crops lost to insect damage, effective pest control is a pressing necessity. Yet, chemical pesticides have proven counterproductive. Insects increasingly develop resistance, and once-minor pests transform into destructive plagues. Farmers are often caught in a relentless cycle—the more they apply pesticides, the greater the subsequent need for further applications. In this context, NOVA explores several alternative approaches to pest management.
