Synopsis

The summer of 1977 saw Paul MacCready, a scientist and entrepreneur from California, awarded the prestigious Kremer Prize. He had achieved the remarkable feat of designing and constructing an aircraft capable of completing a one-mile figure-eight course entirely under its own power, propelled solely by the pilot's efforts.
