Synopsis

Hidden beneath the bustling streets of Rome lies a city of the dead: the Catacombs, a sprawling labyrinth of tunnels stretching for hundreds of miles. These passages are lined with the orderly tombs of ancient Romans. In the year 2002, maintenance workers repairing a broken water main unearthed a burial chamber unlike any other within the complex. This was a mass grave, holding the remains of hundreds of individuals scattered across six roughly hewn caverns, sealed away for nearly two millennia.
