Synopsis

In January of 1993, a group of six scientists and three hikers perished – scalded and crushed – after entering the active volcano Galeras in Colombia. They had entered with the assurance that an eruption was not on the horizon. This program recounts the compelling story of this ill-fated expedition and the ongoing effort to forecast volcanic activity.
