Synopsis

NOVA documents the finding of a coelacanth, a fish often referred to as a "living fossil," which has persisted with remarkably little alteration since the age of dinosaurs. The program echoes Darwin's earlier assertion that certain species, shielded from significant evolutionary pressures, might remain largely unchanged across vast stretches of geological time.
