Synopsis

In 1987, NOVA documented seven exceptional individuals who began the demanding journey toward becoming physicians – a rigorous, nearly decade-long program. Now, with the exception of one who pursued a different path, these graduates are practicing medicine, navigating the complexities of careers, families, and personal lives. NOVA chronicles their experiences in "Survivor MD," a three-part series airing in one-hour segments.
