Synopsis

The citizens of Rome flocked to the Colosseum for free spectacles, typically brutal war games and savage contests between men and beasts. The amphitheater’s most striking element was a vast awning, designed to offer respite from the scorching sun. To explore the potential designs of this roof, NOVA’s team is constructing scaled models at a smaller arena in Spain.
