Synopsis

A persistent hum of distraction settled over WNYX as the station wrestled with a malfunctioning thermostat. Amidst the daydreams that accompanied the inconvenience, certain figures recurred. Matthew, in particular, haunted Beth’s thoughts as a persistent worry; while Bill occupied a more universal space, a recurring ideal in the fantasies of many women.
