It seems to have everything you’d expect from a romantic story about young people discovering themselves. However, I found myself more drawn to the stories of the other characters because the central couple’s relationship felt like something they brought on themselves. She could easily try to uncover what's going on and see if she’s just one of many. She has options—she could confront him or set clear limits. There’s so much hesitation and uncertainty, which maybe makes sense given their age. But it also feels like a flaw in the characters, which is ultimately the writer’s decision. When I was that age, I preferred to make mistakes and learn from them rather than stick to safe patterns. That might be why I don't connect with it as much. The preoccupation with social standing resonated with me because of my upbringing in a religious household where appearances are very important. Yet, watching it isn’t enjoyable, and the way teachers talk about how gossip can impact your future is really off-putting. Despite that, as a portrayal of teenagers dealing with love and physical attraction, it succeeds and could even be seen as forward-thinking for Korean audiences because it attempts to avoid being critical of casual relationships.
