Synopsis

Ben was astonished when Angus escaped any consequence for vandalizing the school. Oblivious to Sarah's illness, Ben attributed Susan’s leniency to a newfound gentleness. He contemplated confessing about Tom Quill’s money, hoping Susan might lend him and Xanthe the ten thousand dollars they owed, to be repaid to him.
