Synopsis

Terese, still carrying the slight haze of the previous night’s wine, felt a sharp disappointment at the news: Paul had arranged a conference with little notice, meaning she would have to work. The morning proved difficult, and then, navigating the crowded halls, she encountered Ezra, her former lover from Perth, also present for the conference. The sight of him left Terese momentarily stunned, and she felt a blush creep up her neck in a wave of awkwardness.
