Synopsis

Karl persists in offering counsel to Paul, yet witnesses little change. A surprise visit from Lucy sparks a flicker of hope in Karl that seeing his sister might buoy Paul’s spirits. But Paul remains unresponsive. Meanwhile, Lucy deflects questions about her return from New York, and when Paul publicly rebukes her, she retorts sharply, leaving him visibly taken aback.
