Synopsis

The wedding proceeded, adorned with enough embellishments to satisfy Lynn’s expectations, yet a subtle unease began to ripple through the guests; the charade was palpable. Sonya accompanied Lucas, but neither of them voiced disapproval. Later, Toadie’s pleas for Sonya to wait for him fell on deaf ears, and his bride’s spirits sank accordingly.
