Synopsis

Lance persuaded an acquaintance to place a final wager for him, using the proceeds from pawning Ruth’s stolen fob watch. Upon returning home, he discovered Ruth utterly distraught, and the family aghast at his transgression. Fortune favored Lance, however, as the horse he’d bet on won. Unfortunately for him, Anne witnessed Chris handing over the winnings. She demanded that Lance confess his gambling to Ruth, or face her disapproval.
