Australia’s formidable saltwater crocodiles are experiencing a striking resurgence. Their numbers are rising rapidly throughout the billabongs, rivers, and beaches of the Northern Territory. Last year alone, more than 300 had to be captured from Darwin Harbour, the region's capital. Hundreds of cattle are being lost, and perhaps most concerningly, attacks on people are increasing annually, sometimes occurring in areas where crocodiles were once unseen.
