Synopsis

This is the story of Kusasi, arguably the most celebrated orangutan on Earth. His ascent was astonishing: from an orphaned infant to a formidable leader weighing over 20 stone – the undisputed sovereign of the orangutans inhabiting Camp Leakey and the vast Bornean jungles surrounding it. Now reaching his thirtieth year, signs suggest his reign may be drawing to a close, as his life takes an unexpected turn with the emergence of a rival seeking to claim his place.
