Synopsis

Narrated by David Attenborough, this documentary follows young research student Anne Orlando on a remarkable expedition, seeking to unravel the secrets of a unique herd of elephants that roam the desert lands south of the legendary city of Timbuktu. How have these animals adapted to such harsh and arid surroundings? What explains their two-month annual disappearances? And what compels them to undertake an extraordinary journey across the desert each year?
